After running the length of Africa, Hardest Geezer reveals his next challenge
Earlier this year, Russ Cook, aka Hardest Geezer, became the first person ever to run the length of Africa.
And the English endurance athlete isn't done yet.
He's just announced what's next: Hardest Adventures, "set up to take people from all different walks of life on a once in a lifetime adventure, for free".
"Through overcoming challenging adventures, I have learnt so much more about myself, the world and the people in it," Russ said. "None of that would of been possible without the support I have had along the way. Now, I want to pass that support on to as many people as possible."
The first challenge will be to climb Africa's tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m). "This is much more than a climb, it is a transformative experience," according to Russ's website, "where reaching the summit will require us to trek through alpine deserts, lush rainforests and snow-capped peaks".
During his 16,000km run across Africa, Russ had to overcome being robbed at gunpoint, getting food poisoning and being kidnapped by men with machetes.
It took him nearly a year to complete the journey, which he documented on YouTube and Instagram, and in his new book Hardest Geezer: Mind Over Miles, which is released tomorrow.
The challenge raised over £1m for charity.
